These grizzlies have been feasting on the salmon run up the McNeil River in Alaska, and are resting before feeding again. Often one can observe these bears catching the salmon when they are swimming up stream for spawning.

Painting workshops include; Peggy-Kroll Roberts, Ken Auster, Kim English, Michelle Torrez, Dan Mieduch, Dan Robinson and Ken Backhaus. He also credits his wife, acclaimed sculptor Martha Pettigrew, for her insightful critiques.

His work has been accepted in the prestigious Art of the Animal Kingdom X & XIII, Bennington Center for the Arts, Bennington, Vermont; O.V.A.L. Wildlife Exhibition, Henderson, Kentucky; Audubon Wildlife Exhibition, Museum of Nebraska Art (MONA), Kearney, Nebraska; Two person exhibition, Plains Museum, Lincoln, Nebraska; and for many years at, the Scottsdale Celebration of Art, Scottsdale, Arizona.
