These grizzlies have been feasting on the salmon run up the McNeil River in Alaska, and are resting before feeding again. Often one can observe these bears catching the salmon when they are swimming up stream for spawning.

Del Pettigrew

Award-winning sculptor/painter, Delmar Pettigrew's works can be found in collections as far away as Kuwait, and as close as the cities of Green River and Gillette in Wyoming. His work is represented by galleries in Cheyenne in Wyoming; Aspen, Beaver Creek, Denver, San Luis, and Loveland in Colorado; in Santa Fe, New Mexico; and Harbor Springs, Michigan.

Pettigrew has studied with numerous nationally known wildlife artists such as; Walter Matia, Chapel, and Floyd Tennyson Dewitt. Painting workshops include; Peggy-Kroll Roberts, Ken Auster, Kim English, Michelle Torrez, Dan Mieduch, Dan Robinson and Ken Backhaus. He also credits his wife, acclaimed sculptor Martha Pettigrew, for her insightful critiques.

His work has been accepted in the prestigious Art of the Animal Kingdom X & XIII, Bennington Center for the Arts, Bennington, Vermont; O.V.A.L. Wildlife Exhibition, Henderson, Kentucky; Audubon Wildlife Exhibition, Museum of Nebraska Art (MONA), Kearney, Nebraska; Two person exhibition, Plains Museum, Lincoln, Nebraska; and for many years at, the Scottsdale Celebration of Art, Scottsdale, Arizona.
