The Sculptor

Dale Lamphere's work explores a broad range of materials and subjects from monumental landscapes to abstracts and even the human form. Lamphere has made an impact on public art across the country. His most recent monumental sculpture, "Dignity of Earth and Sky," has attracted visitors from around the world.

His work "Song of Creation" can be seen at the entrance to the Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center in Sioux Falls, and "Tall Grass" stands outside the Washington Pavilion.

A resident of Sturgis, SD, he has completed more than 60 major commissioned sculptures, featured in venues from Washington D.C.'s National Shrine to the Eisenhower Medical Center in California.

As a part of the South Dakota Artist Legacy Project, The Rapid City Arts Council and the Dahl Museum have created a video of artist Dale Lamphere. The video was produced and directed by Randal Iverson.
